Testing ideas and landing pages entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog

I've always been hesitant to use a landing page or website to gauge market interest before I had the product/service ready to go.

 

This quote from one of the Fyre Festival developers renewed my concern:

 

"We started the website to test the theory that people were interested and it went from there. All of the sudden we had thousands of guests and we started booking talent, and we had a festival on our hands. So we thought, oh wow, we have to go solve all the logistical problems"

 

I've seen several landing pages that just seem to collect email addresses, but as a consumer I personally move on from those, and it doesn't seem like the most accurate way to test an idea.
