I have a site that is frankly a bit too broad and focused in its subject matter, so I want to really focus it on a particular niche within that because I think it would fare much better.
The only problem I have is that some of the strong backlinks it's earned over the past couple of the years are pointing to pages that ideally I'd like to delete as they're not completely related to the niche I'd like the site to focus on.
What's the best approach here? Should I just redirect them to the homepage, or should I reappropriate the content to try and make it more relevant to the niche? If it's the former then am I likely to lose some of the SEO benefits from these links?
