This summer, I'm working at a commercial recording studio, it has a shower and couches and a couple people basically live there. I'm going to do the same until I get my own place. But being there every night isn't ideal being that you barely get sleep for nights on end. Right now I'm in school, so I have a dorm room to come to. But this summer, I won't be and I may be dropping out.
I need a place to stay and also a place to record my own music. I also am trying to build personal clientele and want to record these potential clients in my own studio. I just need a small space where I can record and play music loudly. It would also be ideal for there to be a shower & kitchen in the building. This isn't mandatory, I could always get a gym membership and shower there. I won't make it obvious that I'm living in my workplace, I'm aware that it's illegal.
Something low priced. I'm in NYC and I know a guy here that got a small studio space for $750 a month, there are rooms for $500 in his building, so I know it's possible. I'm considering his building also. I found this place through word of mouth. I don't know how to actual search for places.
