A question to those involved in the construction and land development business. entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog

I'm 17 years old, my grandpa and my dad run a construction, land development and property management business (multiple businesses, technically) They own rental properties all around Arkansas and Missouri.
When I'm 18 I plan on learning the business and eventually taking it over.

So what I ask, how long will it take for me to learn the insides and out of how everything works, with the government, everything. It does seem very challenging and disappointing my grandpa and dad is also another fear.

And also, how hard is to expand out to different areas that are very far out. Think, Texas, Michigan, Illinois, etc. I understand that's very far out but I'm still curious.

And sorry if I had used some wrong terminology. I've never been that involved in what my dad does till a few months ago truth be told. I work at his property management place after school.
