Blog or youtube channel? entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog

I have an idea for something i'm reasonably knowledgeable on and have a list of topics i could write blog posts about. Just wondering how this would compare to turning these into youtube videos. Or how can i find out which option would be best for my audience.

I'm hoping to evually add affiliate links and generate a small amount of fairly passive income.

Any advice appreciated.
