So first a little backstory: I'm 23 and a junior in college. My major is Finance with a concentration in Real Estate. I've always been self employed and I really hope to keep that going. I'm currently wholesaling cars through auctions and to other dealers in the area until I'm done with school and after that I was planning to scale the car thing up a little bit and run it with a friend and personally try to get into investment properties and small acquisitions and development projects.
The only reason I'm in school right now is because of uncertainty of if I could stick with a self employed life for the longhaul. I figured it's better to have a degree and not need it then to not have one at all. The thing is i'm starting to wonder if Finance is even really the major I should be sticking with. I can finish school a semester earlier if I swap to either accounting or marketing. If I stick with Finance it's not only going to take longer, but the journey there is going to be a little rougher for me just based on some of the classes I have to take. I know I'm very good at the car business, I've had extensive experience for my age ranging from working in a service department to running day to day operations a 250 vehicle lot.
I've done very well in every accounting class I ever took and it seems to come naturally to me but that doesn't necessarily mean I want to be an accountant. I guess what I'm really asking is out of Accounting, Finance, and Marketing, what would you guys recommend I pursue?
