How many backlinks per day can I reasonably get for a site that is 10+ years old with 20k links to my site in Webmaster Tools? earn by blogging adsense income

Hello everyone,

Long story short, I have gotten back into the SEO game after a bit of a hiatus (2011). I am doing work for a client and found an absolutely perfectly relevant forum to their niche that allows arbitrary anchor text and dofollow links. The Holy Grail, right?

So, I went and created five forum topics that advertised (the forum category I posted in is literally an advertising section for the services my client provides) specific products that are relevant to the subcategory.

I put about ten links to different deep pages on the client website into each post, all of them with exact match anchor text (which I now understand Google doesn't like very much, weird) to different keywords I want to cement a ranking in. That resulted in about 50 links yesterday. Am I at risk of a penalty?

Worth nothing is that the client gets a lot of new backlinks from Pinterest each day.
