I am an aspiring entrepreneur; I'm almost done with an independent proofreading course, and I plan to start my proofreading business in a couple months. I have many other business ideas, including inventions. Although I love my friends, family, and boyfriend, none of them share or understand my visions for my life.
I've gone to entrepreneur meetups, hoping to find like-minded people to get to know, and I've felt overwhelmed and lost because everyone else there is already an established business owner. I don't understand much of what is said and I don't know how to participate and connect. I'm not looking specifically for business contacts-- I want to have friends who can inspire and encourage me with my business and wealth goals. I have big dreams, and I want to connect with people who don't think they're unrealistic or greedy. I want to surround myself with people in my life who are like-minded in this way.
Can you recommend other places to look for contacts? Should I keep going to the meetups and do something different? Is it only my mindset I need to change? Any advice would be appreciated.
