I want to make an app like Uber, but with more just ride sharing. People can advertise their skills on the app, and people can request services from them. It can be any job. Like babysitting, tutorings, driving lessons, home improvement, dog walking, lawn mowing. It could be remote such as graphic and web design and programming. If you have something to bring, show it to the world.
The app consists of using the google maps API, and the user will either advertise their services in their area(Let's call them Handymen), or find someone in their area who will offer their services(let's call those clients)
The Handymen set the rates, but there is a minimum rate they must set it at. This prevents people from being forced to lowball their services for peanuts and deter clients from seeking services for peanuts, like situations such as E-lance, and O-desk. The minimum will be set at the federal minimum wage. However, like Uber there might be surge pricing if there's a high demand for a skill and not enough people to fill it. It would be between 15% and 50% over the Handyman's rates, we would take no more than 10% of the surge rates.
While the handyman sets the rates, we take a small percentage of their earnings, about 20 percent at most, so the higher they charge, the higher the cut. We don't want to be the ones who screws over our Handymen like Uber does with their cuts. We want to make sure they earn a reasonable amount to put in their pocket.
