First off Im a teenager in university. I want a macbook air because then I can finally learn ios programming and create apps using Xcode and carry a really light laptop to school but its $1200 CAD before taxes. I can think of a lot of business android/web ideas and self investing I can do for $1200 dollars that would grow me as an individual A LOT(learning some skills, self grooming/health, new hobbies) . I dont buy new clothes(I still wear some hoodies from the 8th grade) and I mainly spend just a little bit of money on kindle books for entertainment, I keep a very low budget lifestyle with no splurges. I have never spent $1200 on one piece of tech. Im not rich either and while I will still have good savings afterwards it does take a noticeable portion out.
I do like the battery power and I can honestly see taking it everywhere from my home to school to coffee shops/the mall and the outdoors so I think my cost per hour could be quite low after a few years.
In my mind I can potentially justify it because of how much time I foresee using it and hopefully I can create great apps that will give me a return on my investment. I hope that isnt wishful thinking but correct me if Im wrong.
