Why am I telling you this on r/Entrepreneur? I want to explain how I got enough money to buy my nice car, and why this man will never be able to get one himself.
This man's argument was about my privilege, how I'm a rich white male, and I only have a nice car because I rip people off and hold people like him down, and he was saying how I'm probably just a trust fund baby. Then he proceeded to pull out a big chain with a big lock on the end and smash up my brand new car...which was very nice at the time.
My rebuttal is. I give value to society. I give people something they want more than they want the money in their pockets. In my situation, I happen to own a commercial cleaning company. I'm a janitor. I drive a nice car because I scrub lots and lots of toilets, and my customers pay me so they dont have to do it themselves. I made a video about this
Look, the way you make money is by helping people. People will gladly hand you over real dollars if you provide something of real value to them. Sure, some people are scammers and thieves...but most really wealthy people got to that position because they either provide a ton of value to a few people, or they provide a little value to a lot of people.
We all know this as Entrepreneurs, but I wanted to explain it encase you think rich people are just entitled jerks. Some are, yes. But mostly we just work hard and think about other people more than ourselves. We think about our families, customers, employees, and try to improve their lives. In return, the lucky among us are compensated in proportion to the value we give to the people we put before ourselves.
