SEO Uplift from merging sites earn by blogging adsense income

I have two sites, they are in very similar niches and bring in different amounts of traffic.

To spend the energy better, I'm thinking of condensing the two sites, merging the smaller into the larger.

Let's say site X brings in 10,000 sessions a month and site Y brings in 4,000 sessions a month.

Is it safe to assume site X would being in 14,000 sessions, or could it bring more due or less due to differing domain metrics?

What would you expect to see in this situation based on all things being equal?
