What do SEOs look for in paid links? earn by blogging adsense income

Hi all!

I own a blog and sometimes get requests to do "sponsored posts". The client pays $, and I provide content with a dofollow link to the client's site. I have no illusions - this is really just a paid linking strategy for sure.

I used to point out the quality of my blog's content and design. But the agencies I deal with seem to fix their prices on certain metrics. I've heard DA and TF mentioned, but is that the full story?

So my question to you SEOs who buy links:

1) What do SEOs look for in blog before they pay for a sponsored post? Do they look at certain metrics - e.g. DA or TF? Do they also look for authenticity, reader engagement (e.g. comments)? What about social signals? Does the link profile of the blog matter?

2) How do SEOs find blogs to post on?

I've tried asking my clients these questions before, but I usually get very curt responses or have been completely ignored. I'm very curious as to whether this is secret information or what?!
