So I have a buddy who is either genius, plain old hard working, or both. The guy is 22 years old and brought in around 400K this year. I ended up working for him, starting the same business model that he did, and I brought in about 8K last month, which plummeted slowly because of how cyclical the business is.
Regardless, I thought I'd be happier. Now, I am tremendously grateful, but I'm not ecstatic. My mothers house just went into foreclosure so I'll be figuring out where we're going to be staying and I'll be paying for it, so maybe that's why I am so stressed.
I see people of all scares in this business, one guy was making hundreds of thousands a month in his prime, another was pulling in 50K, ect. No one seems to be happy or even feel accomplished! That's what confuses me. There isn't even a sense of accomplishment. It's just like "Shit! I NEED TO DO BETTER!".
Why is this? It infuriates me when people tell me "Hey man, If I was making that much, I'd be happy!". Everyone says that until they're in the shoes of that person and realizing they want more.
It's a gross cycle and it doesn't seem like a need for entrepreneurial success, but a constant void that can never be filled.
