Hi all,
Local SEO newbie here, so apologies if this is a basic question, but I haven't found blogs that answer this directly.
I am working on citations management for a client who is starting a new business (gym, specifically). He is taking over a building that housed a different, unrelated business in an unrelated industry.
How necessary is it to claim the established listings (GMB, Yelp, Facebook, etc) for that business? Is it more favorable than building new ones? There are citations specific to the old business that would not be wise to claim for my client, so its unlikely that perfectly consistent NAP info is attainable (unless extra time is put in to take down listings). Not sure how much that matters, either.
