How to respond to Google's new algorithm change? earn by blogging adsense income

I've noticed a drop in traffic in the past 3 days for my site, and when I checked MozCast it seemed to confirm that Google is going through some algorithm changes. Can I expect this drop to be permanent or are there often short drops that return to normal after a change? Also, what is the best way (if any) to respond to a Google algorithm change that negatively impacts you? Thanks!
