Any recommendations for email services that allow a single list that can be broken into segments for particular campaigns? entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog

I would like to find a service to manage my email campaigns. A critical feature is the ability to have a single list of people that allow me to flag some people by various segments so I can easily include/exclude them from some mailings.

For example, I might want to send out a yearly newsletter that goes to everyone in the list. However, I might want to send out a targeted offer just to the people in my list why have a particular interest.

I took a look at Mailchimp but it seems like I have to create separate lists for each segment which gets messy having to deal with duplicate names across lists. Also, Mailchimp is too expensive for my budget.

Any suggestions?
