Multi-Author Tech blog with transparent payment dashboard entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog

While browsing Medium, I got an idea for something similiar. I'm passionate about writing things. So I either write on Medium, where I can start discussions or I write as a freelancer, which gives me some extra dollars a month.

I had the idea of creating a (tech) blog where everyone who submits some example ideas and an article can become an author. The interface should feature some discreet ads, as well as the possibility to market your content for money. An author should then get his own ad revenue, and a part of the general payment pool. Every author then has a payment dashboard to see how much he got (maybe per post) and then he should be able to be paid via PayPal.

What are difficulties to face when doing this? I have the technical background to program this, but not so much in Marketing or Finance. Does this have potential? Does it already exist in some form?
