I'm going to be conducting an "experiment" that explores whether or not it's possible to collaboratively build an organization. I plan to lay out a strategy and open up tasks to be completed by members of the group. Each task has an associated point value. See Point Tracker. This makes my initial users part owners in the platform.
We use agile principles to estimate each task that needs to be completed.
Our purpose it to "optimize" the way we create progress as a society. What that means is we're creating a collaboration tool that enables us to address our collective problems.
The Rationale
Right now we throw money into our political process in hopes that SOMEONE will listen and come up with solutions. Here, we're basically cutting out the middle men and coming up with solutions, ourselves. We're tapping into the combined wisdom of our members to come up with innovative ideas that tackle some problem. Then we crowdsource to make it happen.
So, as for the objections. What do you think about the strategy of "collaborative startup?" I'm mainly looking for major things I may be failing to consider.
