Is this even a viable option to make money online? entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog

Hey there everyone!

Some background: After being unable to find a day job for three years, I've decided to start getting into ways of making money online. Of course, life with its irony, decided to give me a great opportunity and now I work a flexible-time job close to where I live for some salary. However, the company where I work at is just trying to recover from a near complete collapse it doesn't feel very stable. So I have decided not to wait until things turn for the worse.

The idea: I've got to confess I'm a total and absolute beginner when it comes to making money online. This is my first shot at this. I've chosen a topic that sticks close to me, something a little bit personal too. I want to help people out.

I thought of creating a 'brand' all about positive thinking and encouragement.

Before all this, I've had to deal with serious depression and I don't wish that feeling even for my enemies. I want to make a blog or something that would encourage positive attitude and help people cope with their struggles with different practices. Looking up the internet though, I have found that most blogs related to that feel... not very personal. They're all white, they all have stock-like photography and they all have numbered lists like some Buzzfeed article and they just overall have a sort of 'corporate stink' to them that just bugs me. I want to make something more personal. I want to make a mascot. I want to make a character that is relatable, one people will feel close to. I'm an artist, and I'd rather just provide the blog with my own stylized work, and instead of making lists of tens and fives I'd rather make it like some sort of journal, or personal advice.

The plan: I'd first make simple motivational pictures with a catchphrase and my mascot in question to spread around Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, and other sites, gathering following while working on my blogging site. Then I'd direct that following to the blog's site which would have Google Adsense installed, as well occasionally promoting a book on the topic via affiliate marketing (probably Amazon). I'll also get into SEO and will open up a newsletter/mailing list when the blog will be up. I may also open a tip jar such as Patreon beforehand for extra support if needed.

Now keep in mind, I don't aim to make six or five figure numbers here. I live in Hungary, where salary is abyssimal. In US dollars, circa 300$ to 500$ per monthly profit would be more than enough for my survival even without a job.

This is where the doubts come in. I have no clue if my idea is even viable, or if people would be interested. I even doubt whether it's morally okay to provide emotional support like so and ask money for it (indirectly). I hesitate to take the plunge even though I should.

What should I do /r/Enterpreur? Should I try my hand in this idea or is it something so stupid and outlandish that I should ditch it for something else before wasting my time on it? Should I instead aim to do it like those big, white sites with (allegedly) massive newsletters do?
