Question for ecommerce / retail businesses entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog

I'm looking to move from my crappy audit job to this and have started the process however I'm just wondering how you calculate your actual profit...

For example, I buy an item for 1$ after all fees and sell for 2$... so I made a 1$ profit but I need to buy more inventory...

Just trying to think of how to factor in resupplying into how much money im actually taking home at the end of the day. Please let me know if this makes sense :)
