Stuck in a dilemna, need advice (International Shipping) entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog

Please note this is my first business, and am learning through my mistakes but was wondering if someone could help me through this dilemna.

So I sent out a headset worth $300 3 weeks ago to Chile through Australia post Economy Air (no tracking) and the estimated time to reach the customer was 1-2 weeks. It's been 3 weeks and the customer messaged me saying he hasn't received the item yet, so i called Auspost and they said they cant do anything because its an untrackable item. So I don't know if the item is lost, or if it got there and the customer is lying.. I don't know. I'm trying to leave shipping out another item as a plan z, last resort but was wondering if anyone could help me to what I should do and what to say to the customer in this situation?

I obviously know now to put tracking on items and insurance through this business journey and will do in future reference.
