Hi everyone,
My SO is planning ahead to when she goes on maternity leave this year, and she would like to use the opportunity to try to run an eBay store selling kids and baby things (toys, clothes etc).
I've advised that she get started now in order to give it time to grow into something that will occupy her for a bit during mat leave (she is due in August).
She's not looking for a full time income from it, but just to supplement the household income, and see how it goes.
I've told her I will invest £500 for her to buy stock. I've looked into eBay stores and store websites on Shopify, and I've recommended to her that she starts on eBay, and then once she starts making a bit of money, start trying to divert traffic to her website.
Do any of you have any tips for a rookie to the industry? I run a couple of businesses myself so that aspect isn't new to me, but I've never done retail so my experience is limited.
