Yelp Question entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog

New startup for local services, created a yelp, ig, fb, google, etc... All's well and positive reviews start coming in on all sites. All's good with fb and google, but yelp's "automated algorithm" that "treats paid advertisers and free business listings equally" tagged two of my three 5 star, honestly legitimate, reviews "not recommended", and are therefore hidden from total rating and default business view. I went through the whole sales pitch with them a while ago and politely declined stating I'm still in the start up phase and can't afford paid social media advertising just yet. I'm assuming most of you have encountered this and there's nothing I can do, but just figured I'd double check here.

Note, I emphasize "honestly legitimate" above because the only help option as to why they're hidden is a link stating, "why you shouldn't ask for reviews". Now it's true that these two reviews, and all of my reviews actually, are from people with whom I'm Facebook friends, and also people who may have logged in from my IP address, but they did not post the review from my IP address, because, after all, isn't that how we all get started, by selling our services or products to friends and family first?
