I own a company that has 4 employees and looking to expand to 6-8 employees over the course of the year. We are all locally based right now, but as our company grows, there is no real need for us to be tied down to an office. We are looking to be 100% remote by January next year. Right now we are working from our office 75% of the time and the remainder is remote. Employee work mostly includes customer service via phone and email (scheduling, resolving issues, responding to email, etc).
I have always hired in person. Do any of you have recommendations for how to hire remote, no matter where the applicant is located? Feedback could include where to start looking for applicants, best method to conduct the vetting process, and best ways to train a remote employee.
If you do not have actual experience with this, no offense, I am not looking for your suggestions. I am looking strictly for feedback from people who have actually done this with their own business.
