can I stick a quote on an image and sell it? entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog

The image would be licensed, but what about the quote? There are so many similar quotes it's impossible to find the original "owner", so how do I handle this? Do I slightly change what I find and be done with it? What if there's an exact version somewhere else that I make up?
